College-Ready Writers Program Shows Positive Impacts on Student Writing

Have you heard about the CRWP? It’s the National Writing Project’s College-Ready Writers Program, and it encourages teachers to teach college and career-ready (primarily argumentative) writing, specifically using nonfiction texts.

According to a study completed by SRI International, the CRWP has had many positive impacts on students’ writing. You can read the study here. Twelve NWP sites participated in 10 states over a 2-year time frame, and the NWP posted the study’s key findings in a Press Release on March 15, 2016.
